Frequently Asked Questions
My child is currently on a waitlist, but I am wanting them to be seen as soon as possible. What is your availability?
You have come to the right place! We are currently accepting new clients and would love to complete a FREE 20-minute consultation to determine if Little Bites Therapy would be the best fit for them.
I think my child needs services, but I am on the fence if I should pursue therapy or just wait and see. Thoughts?
Let’s chat! I offer FREE 20-minute consultations where we can determine if therapy is right for your child and family at this time.
Is my child too young or too old to be seen for therapy?
Nope! Contact us and let’s chat to see Little Bites Therapy would be a good fit for your child. I can help refer you to where you need to be if we feel we are not the best fit.
Do you accept insurance?
We are private pay only. However, we are able to provide you with a Superbill, upon request prior to receiving services, which you can then submit to your insurance provider for possible coverage. We do accept HSA and FSA cards.
How often do I need to bring my child to see you?
The frequency and amount of sessions is client dependent. During our first session together, we will discuss how often your child should be seen based upon their individual needs, as well as what we feel would be best for your family as a whole. The frequency and amount of sessions will continue to be adjusted throughout their plan of care as progress is made, and needs and circumstances change.
Will my child have to be in therapy forever?
No! We offer parent training throughout each therapy session so that families will feel confident in helping their child progress at home.
Does my child have to have an evaluation?
Not necessarily! If your child has completed an evaluation within the past year, we can review it together and build a plan based upon those results. If it has been longer than a year, let’s chat and decide together if we feel an evaluation would be beneficial for your child prior to receiving therapy services. If your child has never received an evaluation for the concern you are having, I require an evaluation prior to receiving therapy services so that we can ensure we are using your child’s strengths to help them progress in areas they are struggling in at this time.
Do you have to be the one to complete an evaluation for my child?
I do not! However, we believe it is best practice to have evaluations and treatment sessions completed by the same therapist because of the rapport and trust being built between clinician and child.
What can I expect during our first visit together following an evaluation?
We believe building rapport and having a strong trusting relationship with my clients is key to progress being made during sessions. That being said, our initial session together will consist primarily of the therapist getting to know you and your child better and working to build that trust together while beginning to target their goals.
Are you HIPAA compliant?
We are! We have worked hard to ensure all software used to contact you, and to document evaluations and treatment notes, are HIPAA compliant. We will not share your child’s personal information with anyone.
Do you allow parents to see evaluation and treatment notes?
Absolutely! We are a team and believe communication is essential.
